Eco School Club. This club is open to years 4, 5 & 6
Eco School Club aims to provide pupils with the opportunities to develop an awareness and understanding of climate change and sustainability. Pupils have ownership over the projects undertaken, where the children’s ideas are at the heart of what we do. Projects and activities in Eco School Club link to the ‘Conservation’ section of our Skill Tree Passport, where we aim for our pupils to be able to maintain the outdoor environment, inspire others to conserve the environment, complete surveys such as a wildlife study, take action to protect the environment and develop positive habits. One of our current projects involves developing our pond area to improve habitats and increase biodiversity in our school grounds. We have been granted funding from the Friends of the Lake District, Lakeland Trails and South Lakeland District Council/Manchester University, which will be used towards our Eco Schools Club.
Outdoor Arts Club, open to children in Reception, and years 1, 2 & 3
Outdoor Arts Club aims to provide opportunities to practise key artistic skills through an outdoor learning approach. Each week we will look at a different artistic skill such as painting, sketching, sculpting etc. and use these skills to create a piece of art. We will use our outdoor environment to deliver these sessions, using the natural world as our main inspiration. During our first session, children will be given the opportunity to share ideas in regards to different art projects that they would like to take part in over the course of the half term and we will collectively decide what we would like to cover during our time in Outdoor Arts Club.
Both clubs will run from 3.15 - 4.15pm
